Modern, chic, bo-ho, and everything beautiful with a navy and copper theme for this beautiful fairy-tale wedding.

After 5 years together, Sam and I planned a fairytale wedding to kick off celebrating the rest of our lives together. From a tear dropping walk down the aisle to the amazing details, our navy and copper wedding was nothing short of a dream.

With the help from our amazing vendors, family and friends this day reflected who Sam and I are as a couple.

Our Love Story

It was 2013 when our love story first began, just 2 single kids who happened to both attend EKU. After discovering a mutual love of beer, Mexican food, and dogs, it wasn’t long before we started hanging out more in sophomore year. Laundry dates and taco bell nights became a weekly occurrence. Sam was drawn to my great sense of humor, while I couldn’t resist Sam’s bad dad jokes and taste in cheap beer. 5 years later, Sam got down on one knee while ice skating downtown. I answered the easiest question ever (besides, do you want to get food? or do you want another dog?) with a YES!! We now spend our weekends watching Netflix, hanging with friends & family, walking our pups and renovating our very first home.

The Ceremony

When searching for venues, Sam and I knew we wanted to have beautiful indoor and outdoor space. We wanted to have an indoor ceremony and reception with an outdoor cocktail hour. So finding the perfect space that was simple and large enough for our 250 guests was challenging. We toured 6 total venues in both Cincinnati and Louisville before finding the perfect Hazelnut Farm. The exposed brick, chandeliers, large fireplace and acres of land brought every dream true the second we walked on property.

Our ceremony was absolutely beautiful, short and simple. We had a dear friend officiate our big day and he brought all the feels. I was crying before I even walked down the aisle and the tears flowed until we were officially husband and wife.

The Party

We had the best day. After our ceremony, we enjoyed a few minutes with our parents and wedding party before being introduced during cocktail hour. BEST THING EVER. I highly highly recommend introducing your wedding party, your parents and you as the newlyweds during cocktail hour. This allowed us so much extra time to mingle and begin celebrating with our family and friends. After introductions, we immediately went into our first dance before hitting the bar and starting the party.

After mingling at cocktail hour, we did a quick prayer and welcome speech before going in for dinner. We enjoyed a taco bar and margs as it is mine and Sam’s favorite dinner. We ended with toast, cake cutting, parent dances and opened the floor to 3 full hours of dancing.

The most amazing day was all thanks to our parents and amazing vendors. I want to relive this day over and over again.

  1. I am really loving the theme/design of your blog. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility issues? A few of my blog visitors have complained about my blog not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Opera. Do you have any tips to help fix this issue?

    1. Thank you! I have only had one person mention an issue when using Safari so far.
I have been using the preview option when drafting a blog and checking the layout on all 3 options (tablet, computer and phone). So far this has seemed to help but I’m going to start researching more about format.
Good luck and hopefully this helps.

  2. Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Safari. I’m not sure if this is a format issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know. The design and style look great though! Hope you get the problem solved soon. Kudos

    1. Tiara- Thanks for the heads up. I haven’t had anyone else mention this yet so I will definitely look into what is happening.
