Here we are approaching 2022, almost two years later in this pandemic and trying to find the new normal. Making a habit can take as little as 30 days but can make a huge difference in your daily happiness. I recommend starting with a few new habits you would like to develop instead of overwhelming yourself.

I am wealth. I am abundance. I am joy.

A Happy Pocket Full of Money. By: David Cameron Gikandi

Here a 5 of the top things I am working towards to have a healthy and positive 2022.

  • Making more time for yourself.
    • What helps you relax? Maybe it’s a face mask or reading a new book. Whatever helps relax you, I challenge you to make the time for it daily. I struggle with this often as I always feel I am behind. Behind in house work, behind in work, whatever just always behind. However, I have been setting reminders in my phone to stop each evening and do what I need to do to give and be my best.
  • Exercise more.
    • This year Sam and I purchased a cycling bike. Best investment ever. We have the Yosuda from Amazon ($288). We both realized we wanted to be in better shape to fully give ourselves to each other. After researching cost effective equipment, a cycle bike was the way to go. I began cycling as a way to lose weight. Now, I cycle because I realize I should be thankful to be active and now I love the way I feel after. This year my goal is to find new workout outlets to continue to grow mentally and physically stronger.
  • Drink more water.
    • My number one suggestions, buy that nice big water bottle. I spent the money on a Hydroflask and am thankful I did. I challenge myself to drink 4 full bottles a day and continue to challenge myself to drink more water each day. Making sure you drink enough water is important to taking care of your body. Several health issues can come from not consuming water.
  • Enjoy the fresh air.
    • Spring is in the air, get outside. While being laid off, I did not take advantage of the beautiful days, I simply let them pass by. I came up with whatever pathetic excuse I could and pushed myself further into a hole. My goal in 2022 is to walk at least 4 times a week. Enjoying the fresh air doesn’t have to be a walk, just reading outside, enjoying a tea outside, or playing outside with your dog can give you the mental reset you need.
  • Be kind.
    • Wake up everyone, it’s almost 2022, we have to start being kind to others and ourselves. Read about 2 amazing girls from my hometown, Oldham County, who are encouraging others to Be Kind.
