Christmas has come and gone, decorations are packed up, and we are now less than one week away from a new year, I can’t believe it. 2021 taught me a lot of lessons and just some of them can be found in my last post, Lessons Learned in 2021.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE JOHSNTONS

Are you glad 2021 is about to be behind us? Time for new beginnings- 2022 is a new chapter. You have the opportunity to be hopeful that this year will be better. Heading into the new year being hopeful allows you to be motivated to achieve the goals you set for yourself.

If you didn’t have such a great 2021, reflect on why that was. What can you do this time to make 2022 a better year? Planning your goals now helps give you direction when entering the new year. However, setting the goal is only the first step. You must create habits, have accountability, and be willing to put in the work to achieve your goals.

I’m a fan of setting goals and as cliche as it sounds, I also look forward to the “New Year” motivation. If you’re struggling to find some goals for 2022, here are some ideas that you are 100% capable of doing!

  1. Stay consistent.
    • Consistency is important when setting any goal. Find ways to stay on track, rather it is keeping a planner, leaving notes around the house, setting calendar reminders, or whatever other small steps you take to keep you on track to reach your big goals.
  2. Spend more valuable time on social media.
    • The “screen time” feature on Apple products now can be a little scary. I am going to try and be more productive when I am on social media. I want to spend more time doing educational and productive activities and less time scrolling.
  3. Create a regular exercise routine.
    • In the past, I’ve always set unrealistic health goals and they become impossible to stick to. I plan to set more realistic long term goals regarding my overall health and exercise routine. If you need a workout buddy, reach out, I’ll be it! Accountability buddies are best.
  4. Learn a new skill.
    • I have owned a guitar for several years now and never taken the time to learn to play- this year, that changes. I am going to look into lessons or teaching myself with online instructional videos.
  5. Practice self-love.
    • Implementing positive self-talk is a huge goal of mine when I begin thinking negatively about myself. I want to learn to be more easy on myself as well as make time for myself.
  6. Professional growth.
    • My new job has presented many learning curves. I have spent time studying and practicing to help me grow in this position. I have set short term and long term goals in this field to hopefully set records within my company in time.
  7. Time management.
    • Time management is so important as we grow up. I am trying to find the time to do all the things I want to do and all the things I need to do. I am slowly getting better at time management, but a big goal in 2022 is to go into each week prepared so I can ensure everything has time.
  8. Read more.
    • I love reading and gaining knowledge. I plan to read a book a month as well as read other education tools to help grow my blog.
  9. Be more present.
    • Life is short. I want to focus on my relationships and being fully present when I am with others.
  10. Let the small things go.
    • I’ve had so many experiences that were stressful and embarrassing at that given time, but looking back on them were not that bad. I need to remember to relax and not stress over the small things.
  11. Save more money.
    • Save, save, save! Should probably stop impulse buying and shopping online, we will see how this goal goes..

I challenge you to make a list of goals for 2022 and hold yourself accountable to achieving them. What are some goals you are making for yourself? What are you going to do to achieve these goals? Share below.

Wishing you amazing experiences and opportunities in this upcoming year!
